COLAS NSW SUCCESSFULLY DELIVERING PORT MACQUARIE AIRPORT UPGRADE

COLAS NSW has once again demonstrated its ability and expertise to successfully deliver an exceptional asphalt and spray sealing project at Port Macquarie Airport in November 2022. This achievement marks another significant milestone for our company and reinforces our reputation as a leading provider of quality infrastructure projects.

From meticulous asphalt and seal design formulation and planning to flawless execution, our dedicated teams have surpassed expectations, leaving an indelible mark on this crucial regional transportation hub.

The project at Port Macquarie Airport demanded precision and efficiency, and COLAS NSW rose to the challenge with flying colors. Our team thoroughly assessed the airport’s unique contract requirements, which resulted in Drue Ryan leading a remarkable transformation of the local asphalt QC laboratory into a NATA airport-compliant testing facility. Furthermore, Cameron O’Neil left no stone uncoated, ensuring the unique airport asphalt mix was produced out of the drum plant within the tight specification tolerances.

At the same time, Lee Whitehead and the extended leadership team were strategizing and analyzing the existing infrastructure, as well as collaborating closely with airport authorities to ensure minimal disruption to operations. Utilizing our state-of-the-art paving equipment, Shaun Ward led the Yarrabee crew to flawlessly execute the resurfacing of the taxiways and aprons, delivering a textured and durable surface that guarantees enhanced safety and efficiency for all air travelers.
