The new facility will replace the old Fremantle terminal and provide additional bitumen storage capacity and processing capabilities to produce EME2 bitumen for the local market. The use of EME2 asphalt can lead to a reduction of up to 30% in structural asphalt thickness in heavy duty pavements. With the adoption of this technology a substantial savings in materials and cost will be realised for the local roads, airports and ports asset owners.
