COLAS are always looking at ways we can keep our teams safe and minimise any risk of incidents. One of the hazards we identified was collisions caused from reversing vehicles. To reduce this risk innovative smart reverse radar systems have also been fitted to our vehicles to warn drivers when they encounter any unsighted obstacles during reversing. We have also installed halo systems to our asphalt pavers and rollers which demarcates the exclusion zone at night around the mobile equipment. The work in this video was being undertaken by the team from the Wide Bay area in Maryborough Queensland.
