Breakfast with NSW Minister for Transport & Roads

On Tuesday 2nd July, COLAS Australia proudly co-sponsored a breakfast with NSW Minister for Transport and Roads, Hon. Andrew Constance. This significant event was organised by the French Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FACCI) and was well attended by representatives of member and non-member organisations.

It is an exciting and important phase in Sydney’s transformation and we are fortunate to be led on this journey by a passionate and forward-thinking politician. The Hon. Minister spoke about the importance of innovation and embracing change. He reflected on the significant contribution of French businesses in delivering Sydney’s infrastructure projects. It was refreshing to hear him talk about reducing red tape, and the role of government as an enabler for the industry to bring the best talent and solutions to the table. The government’s vision for tomorrow’s Sydney is founded in a common-sense approach to solving problems and the Hon. Minister seems determined to make this a reality. As explained by Thierry Madelon, COLAS Australia CEO, in his remarks, the industry will need to match the needs of tomorrow’s Sydney by being able to attract and retain talent. Founded 90 years ago in the humble beginnings of emulsion technology, COLAS, today is the number one consumer of bitumen in the world and the largest importer of bitumen in Australia. COLAS is also among the top 5 users of recycled products all industries combined. Thierry reaffirmed COLAS Australia’s commitment to New South Wales and to providing Safer Sustainable Solutions in the transformation of our vibrant and exciting Sydney city!
